Mont Sângbé National Park

Mont Sângbè National Park is a protected area in western Ivory Coast that conserves an area of savanna-woodland and granite outcrops known as the Monts Sangbé. The park protects a mosaic of dry forests, grasslands and rocky hills that support a variety of West African wildlife.

The park’s landscape includes isolated granite peaks and relatively open savanna habitats where large mammals such as elephants, buffalo and several primate species occur alongside birds and smaller fauna. Wildlife viewing is the primary attraction for visitors and researchers.

The park was created by the Ivorian government to conserve representative habitats of the western highlands and to protect native wildlife and watersheds. Management emphasizes protection and controlled access.

The park is located in Montagnes District in western Ivory Coast, occupying upland terrain away from the country’s major eastern and southern coastal cities.
