Mont Saint-Hilaire is a 414 m (1,358 ft) mountain in Montérégie, Quebec, located in the municipality of Mont-Saint-Hilaire and part of the Monteregian Hills. It is a prominent natural landmark on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River and a local destination for outdoor recreation.

Trails across mixed hardwood forest lead to viewpoints that look over the Richelieu River valley and the Saint Lawrence plain; many routes gain the summit in less than 5 km. The slopes include protected woodland and habitat used for birdwatching, short-day hikes, and seasonal nature study. The mountain is also known locally for its varied rock outcrops and interest to amateur geologists.

Geologically the mountain is an intrusive igneous stock related to the chain of Monteregian Hills formed in the Early Cretaceous. Its present wooded character reflects post-glacial recolonization and long-term protection of large tracts of forested land.

The peak sits in the town of Mont-Saint-Hilaire, about 30 km southeast of downtown Montreal in the Montérégie region. It rises sharply above nearby agricultural lowlands and is accessed by local roads from Route 116 and the town centre.

  • Elevation: Summit reaches 414 m (1,358 ft), making it a conspicuous local peak on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence lowlands.
  • Geology and nature: Part of the Monteregian Hills igneous intrusions; notable for extensive forest cover and protected habitat on its slopes.
