Gegharkunik province is east of Yerevan; Mkhit’ari is accessed via regional roads off the M-4/M-6 corridors toward Lake Sevan. The nearest larger town is Martuni; travel by car or local marshrutka minibuses is common. Roads can be narrow-drive cautiously.
