Minoritenplatz is a historic public square in the Innere Stadt, the central district of Vienna. It is named for the Minorite (Franciscan) order and is dominated by the nearby Minoritenkirche.
The square is edged by a mixture of historic palaces and civic buildings and is a compact pedestrian area used for brief visits, photography, and as a waypoint between larger attractions. The Gothic church on the square is a principal architectural feature and a common reason people stop here.
