Mileștii Mici

Mileștii Mici is a large underground wine cellar complex near Chișinău in Moldova, notable for an extensive network of tunnels used to store wine and for its recognition in reference sources as the largest cellar system by tunnel length.

The site comprises hundreds of kilometres of former quarries and cellars, with the network commonly cited at about 200 kilometres in total and roughly 55 kilometres maintained for wine storage; the facility stores millions of bottles. Tour routes make use of the cellar roads and include guided tastings in underground reception spaces.

The tunnels were carved in local limestone and repurposed for wine ageing and storage, creating stable underground conditions suitable for long-term cellaring. The complex functions as both a commercial production and visitor facility with labeled galleries and public tasting areas.

Mileștii Mici lies in central Moldova within the Chișinău administrative area and is accessible by road from the capital city.
