Migdal Afek

Migdal Afek is an archaeological site and national park in Israel’s Central District near the town of Rosh HaAyin, notable for visible ruins of a fortified settlement and long sequence of occupation.

Stone walls, tower remains and archaeological strata are the main attractions on site. The park includes an inland spring and short walking trails that allow visitors to view standing masonry, exposed foundations and sections of the archaeological mound.

The site preserves material and structural remains from multiple periods, including ancient, medieval and Ottoman phases, reflecting long-term settlement and defensive use. Over time the hill accumulated layers of construction, with later fortification work visible alongside earlier remains.

Migdal Afek sits on the Sharon plain adjacent to the Yarkon river system, close to Rosh HaAyin in central Israel. The park occupies a hill with the spring and stream at its base and is accessible from nearby urban areas.

• Yarkon spring and stream: A natural spring and stream area at the base of the site that feeds into the local river system and forms part of the park's landscape.
