How to Get to Mendi
Mendi is most easily reached by domestic flight from Port Moresby to Mendi Airport; overland travel is possible but can be slow and is subject to weather and road quality. Domestic airlines provide the most reliable access.
Mendi Airport (MDU): Mendi is served by small domestic flights from Port Moresby operated by PNG Air and Air Niugini when scheduled. Flights from Port Moresby take around 40-70 minutes depending on aircraft and routing; fares are commonly in the range of PGK 300-800 one-way depending on carrier and time of booking.
Port Moresby Jacksons International Airport (POM): International visitors usually connect via Port Moresby and then take a domestic flight to Mendi or travel overland where feasible.
