The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi is a large Timurid-era funerary monument located in Turkistan, southern Kazakhstan, built in the late 14th and early 15th centuries. It commemorates the revered Sufi teacher Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and is a key example of Timurid architecture in Central Asia.
The complex is dominated by a monumental brick mausoleum with a decorated portal and large tiled dome, extensive interior vaulting and richly patterned exterior tilework. The interior and the surrounding courtyards present architectural and decorative features associated with Timurid construction methods and decorative practices.
Construction of the mausoleum was commissioned by the conqueror Timur (Tamerlane) in the late 14th century and completed in the early 15th century to enshrine the tomb of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi.
