From Kyoto Station take the JR Sagano Line (to Saga-Arashiyama) or local buses toward Arashiyama and walk roughly 20-30 minutes from the Arashiyama area, or take the Keifuku Randen tram to Katsura-michi and walk. Walking from Arashiyama station keeps the visit scenic and avoids dense traffic.
