Mangalia

Mangalia is a coastal town on Romania’s Black Sea coast in Constanța County, known today as a seaside resort and harbour. The settlement traces its origins to the ancient Greek colony of Callatis, founded in the 6th century BCE, and archaeological remains and a local museum document that history.

The modern town features beaches, a small commercial harbour, seasonal resort infrastructure and facilities for therapeutic treatments that attract domestic and regional visitors in summer. Tourism and fishing are important local economic activities while historical and archaeological sites add cultural interest.
