Manchester Arena is a large indoor arena in central Manchester, England, known for hosting concerts, sporting events and large public performances; it opened in the mid-1990s. It is one of the busiest indoor arenas in Europe by ticket sales and seating capacity.
The arena regularly stages major international music tours, comedy shows and indoor sporting fixtures, with a maximum concert capacity of around 21,000 spectators. Its central location next to Manchester Victoria station makes it a primary event hub for Greater Manchester.
The arena opened in the 1990s and quickly became a principal UK venue for touring acts. On 22 May 2017 an explosive attack occurred in the arena’s foyer after a concert, after which the venue underwent repairs and enhanced security measures and subsequently reopened.
Situated in the city centre immediately adjacent to Manchester Victoria station, the arena lies within walking distance of central Manchester transport and accommodation hubs.

By road: the arena is in central Manchester near Trinity Way (A57/A56) and Deansgate; there are short-stay city car parks nearby but public transport is usually quicker for events.
