Madera Canyon is a steep-sided canyon on the slopes of the Santa Rita Mountains in southern Arizona, managed as part of the Coronado National Forest. It is a well-known natural area for birdwatching, hiking and outdoor recreation.

How to Get to Madera Canyon (Arizona) #

Madera Canyon lies in the Coronado National Forest near Green Valley and about 45-60 minutes southeast of Tucson by car. From Tucson take I-19 south to the exit for Nogales/Amado, follow AZ-289 or AZ-83 east toward the Santa Ritas, and follow signed forest roads to the Madera Canyon picnic and trailhead area. A high-clearance vehicle is not usually necessary for main parking areas.
