The Louis Vuitton Foundation is a contemporary art museum and cultural centre located in Paris’s Bois de Boulogne, housed in a distinctive glass-and-steel building designed by Frank Gehry. It opened to the public in the mid-2010s and hosts rotating exhibitions and cultural events.

The building itself is a major draw for visitors because of its complex, layered glass-sail architecture and large internal atrium that connects exhibition spaces. The Foundation presents temporary exhibitions alongside displays from its collection, and includes an auditorium for performances and talks.

The centre was commissioned by the Louis Vuitton company and designed by Frank Gehry; its construction and opening in the 2010s created a new private-public cultural venue in western Paris. Since opening it has staged exhibitions by international contemporary artists and curators.

The site is on the northern edge of the Bois de Boulogne park in western Paris, accessible from the city centre by public transport and roads.

The Louis Vuitton Foundation is in the Bois de Boulogne to the west of central Paris. Take Paris Metro Line 1 to Les Sablons (Neuilly-Porte Maillot/Les Sablons) and walk about 10-15 minutes through or around the Jardin d’Acclimatation to the Foundation. It is also reachable by local buses serving the Bois de Boulogne and from Porte Maillot.

By car, approach from central Paris via Avenue de la Grande Armée or the Boulevard Périphérique and follow signs for Bois de Boulogne/Louis Vuitton Foundation; there is visitor parking on site.

• Book timed-entry tickets in advance and aim for the first morning slot or late afternoon to avoid coach-group peaks; the building's galleries and gardens are busiest mid-day.
• Enter through the garden side to experience Rodin's major bronzes in their intended outdoor settings before the indoor rooms get crowded; spending time in the landscaped sculpture garden is often the most rewarding part of the visit.
• Allow time to see the upstairs rooms in the Hôtel Biron building-these interior galleries with sketches and plaster casts are frequently skipped by visitors who concentrate only on the garden pieces.
