Los Pinos is the former official residence and offices of the President of Mexico, located within the Bosque de Chapultepec in Mexico City. It served as the presidential residence from 1934 until it was opened to the public in 2018.
The complex contains multiple government-era residential and reception buildings, gardens and courtyards that visitors can walk through as part of the cultural space that replaced the private presidential compound. Highlights include the formal facades, landscaped grounds and exhibition rooms that display objects from the presidency and state receptions.
Los Pinos was designated the presidential residence in the 1930s and was used by successive presidents for living quarters, official ceremonies and receptions throughout the 20th century. In late 2018 the compound was converted into a public cultural and recreational site and some previously private areas became accessible to visitors.
The site sits within Chapultepec Park in central Mexico City, northwest of the historic centre and close to museums on the first and second sections of the park. It is reached by road from central Mexico City and lies near major cultural institutions and park entrances.
