Loro Parque

Loro Parque is a large zoological and marine park in Puerto de la Cruz on the north coast of Tenerife, Canary Islands. It opened in the early 1970s and has grown into a multi-attraction park known for its aviaries and marine shows.

The park includes staged marine-mammal presentations, a large aquarium, a cold-temperature penguin exhibit and extensive parrot and bird collections set within landscaped gardens. Exhibits are arranged around visitor walkways and themed zones with show schedules and feeding times posted on site.

Established in 1972, the park expanded from an initial focus on parrots into a broader zoological and marine attraction over subsequent decades, adding purpose-built theatres, aquaria and conservation facilities.

Loro Parque sits in Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife’s northern coastline, close to the town’s tourist zone and the Orotava valley slopes.
