The Basilica of Candelaria is a major Roman Catholic Marian shrine in the town of Candelaria on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. It is dedicated to the Virgin of Candelaria, the patroness of the Canary Islands, and is an important pilgrimage destination.

The basilica contains the venerated image of the Virgin and a spacious nave and sanctuary for liturgical events and pilgrim visits. A wide plaza in front of the church features statues of the indigenous Guanche kings and provides a public gathering space for processions and festivals.

A succession of churches has occupied the site since the early colonial period; the present basilica is a 20th-century construction built to accommodate large numbers of pilgrims and to enshrine the Marian image. The church serves both liturgical functions and as the focal point for annual religious celebrations.

The basilica stands on the eastern coast of Tenerife in the municipality of Candelaria, close to the sea and the town’s harbour. It is reachable by road from other towns on the island and is a short drive from major population centres on Tenerife.

Candelaria is about 25 km southwest of Tenerife South Airport (TFS) and about 20-25 km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Regular buses connect both cities to Candelaria.

• Attend mass or a candlelight vigil to experience local devotion and the basilica's acoustics.
• Combine the visit with local festivals in Candelaria (notably the fiestas in early February) when processions populate the square.
• Arrive early to avoid midday sun on the plaza; the basilica's steps are a favourite resting place for pilgrims.
