The Loggia del Bigallo is a small medieval loggia in Florence associated with the city’s charitable institutions. It served as an interface for a confraternity that cared for pilgrims and foundlings and is notable as a civic Gothic structure in the historic centre.
Architecturally it comprises a two-arched open loggia facing a public space and originally belonged to organizations that provided social services in medieval Florence. Decorative details reflect 13th and 14th-century Florentine stonework.
The loggia stands close to Piazza San Giovanni in the historic centre of Florence, near the Baptistery and cathedral complex.
