Loch Chon is a freshwater loch in central Scotland within Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. It lies inland from the Trossachs hills and is surrounded by moorland and forestry.
The loch is a quieter, more remote waterbody compared with nearby tourist areas, and is used by walkers and anglers visiting the forest tracks and hill routes around the shoreline. Trails provide access to viewpoints around the loch and links into the park’s network of paths.
Loch Chon was formed by glacial action and sits within the landscape protected by the national park established in 2002. Its setting reflects upland Scottish loch-country shaped by glaciation.
The loch lies inland in the Trossachs area of central Scotland, surrounded by upland moors and commercial forestry; access is by minor roads and forest tracks from nearby villages and park entry points.
