Loch Affric is a freshwater loch in Glen Affric in the Scottish Highlands, set within one of the best surviving tracts of native Caledonian pinewood in Britain.
The loch and the surrounding glen are used for hillwalking, wildlife watching and forest trails; routes around the loch and on adjacent ridges give views over native pinewoods and upland terrain.
The glen and loch were shaped by glacial action and contain remnants of ancient Scots pine. Conservation and woodland restoration work has been carried out in the area during the 20th and 21st centuries.
The loch sits within Glen Affric in the Highland council area and lies inside the Glen Affric National Nature Reserve; access is by rural roads and footpaths into the glen west of Inverness.

How to Get to Loch Affric #
Loch Affric is reached by road from Cannich or Drumnadrochit via the A831 and minor single-track roads. The nearest railhead is Inverness; from there it is approximately a 60-90 minute drive.
