Lishui is best reached by rail or by flying into nearby regional airports and transferring by train or coach. The nearest major airports are Wenzhou Longwan (WNZ) and Hangzhou Xiaoshan (HGH); rail services call at Lishui Railway Station and Lishui South Railway Station.
Wenzhou Longwan International Airport (WNZ): Direct airport coaches and intercity coaches run from Wenzhou Longwan to Lishui; expect roughly ¥70-90 and about 2-2.5 hours depending on traffic. An alternative is to take a taxi or airport shuttle into Wenzhou Railway Station (taxi ~¥30-50, 30-40 minutes) and catch a high-speed train to Lishui (about 1-1.5 hours, ¥40-80 for 2nd class).
Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH): Hangzhou is a major hub with frequent high-speed trains to the Lishui area. From the airport take the Metro/airport shuttle or a taxi to Hangzhou East Railway Station (taxi ~¥80-120, ~30-45 minutes) then a high-speed train to Lishui (typically ~2-2.5 hours, ¥90-160 2nd class). Long-distance coaches from Hangzhou to Lishui are also available (around ¥80-130, ~3.5-4.5 hours).

Coaches are frequent and often the most flexible option for destinations not directly served by high-speed rail.

- Intercity & long-distance coach (¥30-130) - Coaches connect Lishui with nearby towns and cities not directly served by rail. They depart from the main long-distance bus station and are generally inexpensive and frequent; expect variable standards of comfort. Use coaches for direct routes to smaller towns or when schedules don't match the trains.
- City buses (¥1-3) - Lishui's municipal buses cover most urban districts and are the cheapest way to get around. Fares are typically a low flat rate (often ¥1-3 depending on route), and buses run on fixed timetables with limited English signage. Carry small change or use local mobile payment (Alipay/WeChat) where accepted.
- Taxi / Didi (ride-hailing) (¥8-60) - Taxis and Didi are widely available and the most convenient door-to-door option, especially if you have luggage or are heading to mountain areas around Lishui. Expect a typical short trip inside the city to start around ¥8-15 with per-kilometre charges thereafter; airport or long suburban transfers will be more.
