Lindholm Høje is a large Iron Age and Viking Age burial site and former settlement near Aalborg in northern Denmark, notable for its extensive stone settings and burial mounds dating mainly from the early centuries AD through the Viking period.
Excavations have shown the place was used as a cemetery and settlement from the late Iron Age into the Viking Age. Finds recovered from the site illuminate Scandinavian burial practices and material culture from roughly the early centuries AD through the late first millennium.
The site sits on a low moraine hill overlooking the Limfjord, immediately northwest of Aalborg and close to the suburb of Nf8rresundby, with good road and public-transport links from the city centre.

How to Get to Lindholm Høje #
Lindholm Høje is the Viking burial site just north of Aalborg in northern Jutland. It lies roughly 3-4 km from Aalborg city centre and is reachable by local bus or taxi from Aalborg; the drive takes around 10 minutes from central Aalborg. There is a visitor centre/museum adjacent to the site and a short walk from nearby local stops or parking areas.

- Begin your visit in the small on‑site museum to learn the burial‑ground layout and see finds before walking the grave field; the interpretive displays make the low stone markers and mounds much easier to understand.
- Go at sunrise or late afternoon for low, side light that accentuates the stone settings and the silhouette of the Viking-era grave mounds against the landscape; these times also have fewer visitors.
