Leopold Museum

The Leopold Museum is a modern art museum in Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier that houses a major collection of Austrian modernist art. The museum displays an extensive holding of works by Egon Schiele and significant pieces by Gustav Klimt and Oskar Kokoschka.

Galleries present a permanent collection of 19th- and 20th-century Austrian art alongside rotating temporary exhibitions. Visitor facilities include exhibition spaces, a museum shop and a café, all within the larger MuseumsQuartier cultural complex.

The collection was formed by Rudolf and Elisabeth Leopold over several decades and the museum building opened in 2001 to provide public access to the holdings and scholarly study.
