Park Urban nature reserve with canopy walkway and wildlife
A private reserve on Lagos’ Lekki Peninsula, Lekki Conservation Centre features mangrove trails and one of West Africa’s longest canopy walkways; visitors come for birdwatching and guided nature walks.
The Lekki Conservation Centre is an urban nature reserve on the Lekki Peninsula in Lagos State, Nigeria, managed by the Nigerian Conservation Foundation. It protects remnant coastal woodland and provides a managed site for wildlife viewing and environmental education.
The site features paved and unpaved walking trails, boardwalks and an elevated canopy walkway that runs roughly 400 metres through the tree canopy. Common sights include native birds, small primates and reclaimed mangrove habitat along the reserve’s paths.
The centre was created to conserve a patch of coastal forest within the rapidly developing Lekki corridor and to offer public programmes on conservation and biodiversity. It sits within the built-up Lekki area on Lagos’s eastern waterfront.
