Långnäs
Cape Village and ferry port in Åland archipelago
Långnäs on Åland serves as a ferry and archipelago gateway; visitors use it to reach island routes, cycle paths and skerry cruising across the Baltic’s sheltered waters.
Långnäs is a small harbour and village on the island group of Åland, located in the municipality of Lumparland. It is known primarily for its ferry terminal and coastal facilities.
The site is used as a local transport point and mooring area for boats and ferries serving the eastern Åland islands. The shoreline and nearby archipelago offer straightforward coastal walking and boat-accessible shorelines for short excursions.
The harbour developed to serve maritime traffic in the 20th century and has been used intermittently as a stop on regional ferry routes. Facilities are modest and oriented to vehicle and passenger transfers rather than large-scale tourism.
Geographically it sits on the eastern shore of the Lumparn bay within Åland, in the northern Baltic Sea. It lies within the rural municipal area of Lumparland amid a low-lying archipelago landscape.
