Lake Vidraru and Vidraru Dam are reached from Curtea de Argeș or Arefu by county roads; the Transfăgărășan (DN7C) provides the most dramatic approach when it is open (typically late spring to early autumn). The dam is signposted from the Argeș valley; private car is the most practical way to visit.
