Lake Siutghiol is a coastal lagoon in Constanța County on Romania’s Black Sea coast, lying between the city of Constanța and the resort strip of Mamaia. The lake contains a small island and is closely associated with seaside tourism in the area.
The site offers promenades, watersports, boat trips to Ovidiu Island and views across to the Black Sea beach strip of Mamaia. The narrow spit of land forming Mamaia separates the lake from the open sea and concentrates resort facilities and promenades along its length.
The lagoon developed as a coastal feature shaped by marine and fluvial processes and has been used for recreation and local fishing for decades. Development of the nearby resort and city waterfront has defined much of the lake’s contemporary use.
Geographically the lake lies immediately north of the Black Sea coast in Constanța County, adjacent to the city of Constanța and the long sandy resort strip of Mamaia.
- Peak season: Best visited in summer when the coastal resort amenities and promenades are active and local water-sport operations run.

Siutghiol is adjacent to Mamaia resort and the city of Constanța. From Constanța train station, take a local bus or taxi to Mamaia; the lake is a short walk from the main beachfront area.
