Lake Seydozero

Lake Seydozero is a lake on the Kola Peninsula in Murmansk Oblast, Russia, situated in the Lovozero area of the central peninsula. It is noted regionally for its natural setting in the upland tundra landscapes of the Lovozero massif.

The lake and its immediate surroundings attract hikers and those interested in Arctic landscapes and indigenous Sami culture; the shoreline features notable boulder fields and sacred stones known locally as seids. Access typically involves travel from nearby settlements followed by on-foot or guided approaches into upland terrain.

Historically the lake and nearby landscapes have long-standing cultural importance to local Sami populations, who regard some stones and locations around the lake as sacred. The area has not been the site of major modern urban development and remains relatively remote.
