Rabisha in Bulgaria’s Montana province sits beneath karst hills and close to Magura Cave; hikers, cavers and anglers use the lake as a base for exploring caves and limestone country.
Lake Rabisha is a karst lake in Montana Province in northwestern Bulgaria, located beside the village of Rabisha. It sits next to the entrance to Magura Cave, a major local attraction.
The shoreline and shallow littoral zone attract anglers and birdwatchers and the lake is used for local recreation. Small boats and short walking routes around parts of the shore provide the main visitor experiences.
The lake occupies a karst basin and is fed by local springs and surface runoff. Its basin and shoreline have developed over time through dissolution of limestone and other karst processes.
Geographically it lies in the Danubian Plain foothills of northwestern Bulgaria, close to the village of Rabisha and the Magura Cave entrance. The surrounding landscape is a mix of karst ridges and agricultural land.

How to Get to Lake Rabisha #
From Vidin or Montana, drive toward Belogradchik and follow regional roads to Rabisha village; the lake is a few kilometres from the village center with signposted access and small parking areas.

- There is a small café and boat rental in Rabisha village; bring cash on weekends as card machines can be unreliable.
