Lake Minnewanka is a long glacial lake in Banff National Park, Alberta, northeast of the town of Banff. It is one of the larger and more accessible lakes within the national park and is set in a mountain valley with steep forested slopes.
The lake area offers lakeside trails, picnic areas and boat access; it serves as a recreational corridor with scenic viewpoints along the road that follows the lake. Outdoor activities include hiking on nearby trails and shoreline recreation.
The lake occupies a glacial valley carved during the last ice age and lies within federally managed national parkland, with visitor services concentrated along the main access road.

- Drive or cycle the Lake Minnewanka Road from Banff and plan to arrive early - the main parking fills quickly on summer mornings and early arrival gives the best light for photos and wildlife sightings.
