Lake Massaciuccoli

Lake Massaciuccoli is a shallow coastal lake in Tuscany, Italy, situated between Viareggio and Torre del Lago Puccini on the Tyrrhenian coast. The lake is characterized by extensive reedbeds and marsh areas rather than steep shorelines.

Visitors primarily encounter marshes, reedbeds and shallow open water; the area is used for birdwatching, reed-harvesting traditions and small-scale fishing. The nearby village of Torre del Lago Puccini is associated with cultural events linked to the lake shoreline.

Historically the lake and its wetlands have been used for fishing and reed harvesting and have attracted conservation attention in the 20th and 21st centuries to manage water quality and habitat.
