Lake Leksozero is a lake in the Republic of Karelia in northwestern Russia. It is one of many lakes in the heavily forested, lake‑rich landscape of Karelia.
The lake is used locally for fishing and small-scale recreation and is surrounded by boreal forest and wetlands rather than large settlements. Recreational infrastructure is limited and access is generally by local roads or forest tracks.
Like most lakes in Karelia, it occupies terrain shaped by glacial and postglacial processes and lies within a landscape of mixed coniferous-deciduous woodland and peatlands.
Lake Leksozero sits in the Republic of Karelia in northwestern Russia, in a sparsely populated, forested region of European Russia.
