Lake Kuş Lake

Lake Kuş (Manyas Lake) is a shallow freshwater lake in Balıkesir Province, Turkey, and lies within Manyas Bird Paradise National Park. The lake and park are recognised for their importance to migratory and resident waterbirds.

The area is a major destination for birdwatching and scientific study, with viewing facilities and trails maintained in the national park. The lake supports reedbeds, marshes and other wetland habitats that attract a wide range of bird species.

Historically the basin has been a wetland used by local communities for fishing and reed-harvesting; protection under the national park has focused on conserving bird habitat and managing visitor access. Park authorities monitor bird populations and maintain observation points.

Geographically the lake is in Balıkesir Province in northwestern Turkey and is part of a lowland wetland complex that lies inland from the Marmara coast.
