How to Get to Lake Katam #
Lake Katam is deep in the Ennedi Plateau of northeastern Chad. Reaching it requires an organized 4x4 expedition from Fada or Abeché; chartered overland trips take several days and must be organized with local guides familiar with Ennedi’s tracks. There is no public transit; flights into Chad and then overland convoy are standard for travellers.

- Travel with a local guide experienced in Saharan navigation - GPS tracks can be unreliable among sandstone plateaus.
- Plan visits during the coolest hours of the day; water can be scarce at remote sites.
