Lake Edward is a rift lake on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, forming part of the western branch of the East African Rift system. It is a freshwater lake of regional ecological importance and supports significant wildlife populations.

Named during 19th-century European exploration, the lake has long formed part of local ecosystems and human economies through fishing and transport; it is also central to adjacent protected areas that conserve the surrounding savanna and montane habitats.
