Above Lake Garda, Lago di Tenno is a small clear-water lake reached by short hikes from the medieval village of Canale di Tenno; swimmers and day-trippers use beaches in summer.
Lago di Tenno is a small alpine lake in Trentino-Alto Adige in northern Italy, noted for its clear, turquoise-colored water. It occupies a compact basin set above the northern shore of Lake Garda.
The shoreline is compact and easy to explore on foot, with short lakeside paths, shallow bathing spots and picnic areas. The well-preserved medieval village of Canale di Tenno lies a short walk above the lake and is frequently visited together with the lake.
The lake is of glacial origin, formed in a mountain basin after the last ice age and shaped by local runoff and karstic drainage. It has long served as a local recreational spot for swimming and short walks.
The lake sits near the village of Tenno, in the hills northwest of Riva del Garda, within the Trentino region and a short drive from the northern Lake Garda area.
