Lago di Lei is a high-altitude reservoir in the Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy, administratively associated with the canton of Graubünden (Grisons) on the Swiss side. The lake was created for hydropower and water storage.
The reservoir occupies a mountain valley and is ringed by alpine peaks and steep valley sides typical of the region. Access and infrastructure are oriented around the dam and associated service roads.
The lake was formed when a dam was built to create a hydropower reservoir; the installation is operated as part of regional power systems and water management.
Geographically it lies in the Grisons region of eastern Switzerland near the international border with Italy, at high elevation in the Alpine massif.
