Ľadový štít is a mountain peak in the High Tatras of northern Slovakia, reaching approximately 2,627 metres and forming part of the main Tatra ridge. It is a prominent alpine summit within the Tatra mountain range and Tatra National Park.
Mountaineers and experienced hikers come for steep alpine routes and panoramic high-mountain views; the peak is noted for its exposed ridges and requires climbing ability on most approaches. The summit offers wide vistas across the High Tatras and surrounding valleys during good weather.
The peak has long been part of the mountaineering history of the High Tatras and is named for its icy conditions; it has been climbed since the 19th century as alpinism developed in the region. The area has been protected as part of Tatra National Park to conserve its alpine environment.
Ľadový štít lies in the High Tatras within the Prešov Region of northern Slovakia and is inside the boundaries of Tatra National Park, forming part of the central Tatra ridge.
