About La Pyramide
La Pyramide stands in the Plateau area, Abidjan’s main business district, and is one of the better known buildings in the city skyline. It was designed by Italian architect Rinaldo Olivieri.
Construction started in 1968 and the building was completed in 1973. Olivieri’s concept was to capture the activity and layered feel of an African market within an urban, high rise form, which gives the building its memorable, sculptural character.
