La Campana National Park

La Campana National Park protects a Mediterranean-climate mountain landscape in Chile’s Valparaíso Region and is centred on Cerro La Campana, a prominent peak within the park. The area conserves native forest and distinctive plant species.

Key reasons to visit are the park’s hiking trails and viewpoints that lead to the summit of Cerro La Campana and reveal wide views toward the coastal plain and ocean. The park is also important for the conservation of endemic trees such as the Chilean wine palm.

The mountain and park were visited by naturalists in the 19th century and have been managed for conservation and recreation since they entered formal protected status in the 20th century. Trails and visitor facilities have been established to support hiking and nature observation.

La Campana National Park lies inland in the Valparaíso administrative region, northwest of Santiago and close to towns such as Olmué. The park sits between coastal valleys and the foothills, providing an upland natural area within reach of regional urban centres.
