Kuiu Island is an island in the Alexander Archipelago of southeastern Alaska. It lies within the coastal island chain of Alaska and is part of the region commonly managed as Tongass National Forest.
The island is predominantly wilderness with long, dissected coastline and dense temperate rainforest. It is sparsely populated and used mainly for subsistence and recreational hunting and fishing; there are no large towns on the island.
Historically the island is part of the broader coastal environment of southeastern Alaska and has been incorporated into federal land management frameworks. Much of its land remains in a near-natural state with limited development.
