About Kuang Si Falls

Kuang Si Falls is a multi-tiered waterfall and travertine pool system in northern Laos, noted for its series of cascades and intensely blue-green pools. The site is a popular natural attraction and day-trip destination from the historic town of Luang Prabang.

Walkways and paths lead between tiers and pools where visitors commonly swim in warm weather; the falls descend through a forested valley with steps and viewing platforms. A bear rescue centre adjacent to the park cares for rescued Asiatic black bears and is open to visitors as part of the attraction.

The falls lie in a forested area south of Luang Prabang, approximately 29 kilometres from the town, and are approached by a short road from the main highway.
