How to Get to Krynica Morska#
Krynica Morska sits on the Polish side of the Vistula Spit and is best reached via Gdańsk (GDN). There is no rail line onto the spit, so most visitors transfer from Gdańsk or Elbląg by regional bus or taxi for the final leg.
Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN): Gdańsk is the main international airport for the Vistula Bay area. From the airport take the PKM (Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna) or bus to Gdańsk Główny/City (≈25-30 minutes, PKM ≈4-6 PLN). From Gdańsk there are direct seasonal and year‑round regional buses to Krynica Morska (journey ≈1.5-2 hours, fares typically ≈20-40 PLN depending on service).
Olsztyn / Warsaw (WAW): These airports are further away (Warsaw much further) and generally only useful if you find cheaper international connections; expect long rail/bus transfers (2.5-4+ hours) and higher ground-transport costs.
Train: Krynica Morska has no direct rail service; the nearest major rail hubs are Gdańsk Główny and Elbląg. From those stations you continue by bus or taxi - trains get you to the regional centres but not onto the spit itself.
Bus: Intercity and regional buses run from Gdańsk (and in summer from other Tricity points) to Krynica Morska; journey times ≈1.5-2 hours from Gdańsk with fares commonly in the 20-40 PLN range. Local summer shuttle buses serve beaches and hotels once you arrive.
How to Get Around Krynica Morska#

- Intercity / regional bus (20-40 PLN) - Regional bus services are the main public transport link to Krynica Morska; they run from Gdańsk and sometimes from Elbląg. Expect ~1.5-2 hours from Gdańsk, and buy tickets at the station, kiosk or onboard where allowed.
- Taxi / Private transfer (~200-350 PLN (airport → Krynica Morska)) - Taxis or private transfers from Gdańsk Airport or Gdańsk city are the fastest door‑to‑door option, useful if you have a lot of luggage or arrive late; fares are significantly higher than the bus (especially from the airport directly to Krynica Morska).
- Car / Rental (€25-€50/day (rental)) - Renting a car gives full flexibility to explore the Vistula Spit and nearby coast; drive time from Gdańsk ≈1.5-2 hours depending on traffic. Parking in Krynica Morska is available but can be limited in the high season.
- Local shuttle (summer) (Local fares vary (often ≤20 PLN)) - In high season local shuttles link beaches, hotels and the main bus stop; services are frequent and tailored to tourists. Timetables are seasonal - check local tourist info on arrival.
