Kronplatz (Plan de Corones) is a mountain and major alpine recreation area in South Tyrol, Italy, with a summit elevation of 2,275 metres. It is one of the region’s principal ski and hiking destinations.

In winter the mountain supports an extensive ski domain with piste networks, chairlifts and modern lift infrastructure serving resorts on its slopes. In summer it becomes a centre for hiking, mountain biking and alpine panoramas.

A contemporary highlight is the Messner Mountain Museum Corones, a summit museum designed by Zaha Hadid that explores mountaineering history and culture.

The area developed into a major alpine resort in the 20th century as lift infrastructure and tourist services expanded; recent decades have seen investment in modern lift systems and summit facilities.

Located in the Puster Valley near the town of Bruneck/Brunico in the province of South Tyrol, Kronplatz is easily reached from valley transport links and serves as a hub for surrounding Dolomite resorts.

Kronplatz (Plan de Corones) is served from the Puster Valley: take the regional (Pustertal) railway to Brunico/Bruneck station, then transfer to local SAD buses or take the Kronplatz cable car (from Riscone/Riscone-Bruneck area) up to the ski/summit area. By car follow the A22/E45 (Autostrada del Brennero) north to Bressanone/Brixen and then SS49/SS244 into the Puster Valley toward Brunico; the drive from Bolzano/Bozen is about 50-70 km (roughly 45-75 minutes) depending on traffic.
