Plaza Prominent Warsaw square with Krasiński Palace nearby
Historic square in Warsaw framed by the Krasiński Palace and judicial buildings; tourists visit for 17th-18th‑century architecture, monuments and walks toward the Saxon Garden and Old Town.
Krasiński Square is an urban square in central Warsaw’s Śródmieście district, dominated by the historic Krasiński Palace and several important public buildings. It is known as a civic and commemorative space in the city centre.
The square is anchored by the Krasiński Palace, a seventeenth-century noble residence that faces the open space. Adjacent to the palace is the large Warsaw Uprising Monument, a prominent memorial completed in 1989 that attracts many visitors and local ceremonies. The square is also bordered by the Supreme Court and other institutional buildings that give it a formal, civic character.
The square grew up around the Krasiński Palace and has been reshaped repeatedly, especially after wartime damage in the 20th century and subsequent postwar rebuilding and commemorative projects. The Warsaw Uprising Monument was added in 1989 as part of late-20th-century efforts to memorialise the 1944 uprising.
Situated just north of Warsaw’s Old Town and within easy walking distance of the Royal Route, the square lies in central Warsaw and is well connected by public transport from the rest of the city.
