Vidin Airport / Ruse / Plovdiv (regional): There are no major commercial airports closer than Sofia; travellers from other international airports in Bulgaria (e.g., Plovdiv) typically transfer by road. For arrivals into Bucharest (OTP) across the Danube, expect longer transfers (2-3+ hours by car) including border crossing formalities.
Train: Kozloduy does not have frequent long-distance rail service; the nearest significant rail hub is Vratsa train station (Vratsa) which connects on Bulgaria’s Sofia-Varna/Mezdra lines. From Vratsa it’s a short bus or taxi ride to Kozloduy (about 20-30 minutes).
Bus: Intercity buses to Kozloduy run from Vratsa and other regional centres. Direct buses from Sofia to Vratsa take about 1.5-2 hours (tickets usually BGN 6-12), then local buses/taxis cover the remaining 20-30 minutes to Kozloduy for a small additional fare.

- Intercity bus (BGN 6-12 (to Vratsa)) - Intercity buses from Sofia and other regional cities go to Vratsa; journey times are around 1.5-2 hours from Sofia with tickets typically BGN 6-12. From Vratsa, use a local bus or taxi for the final leg to Kozloduy.
