Kowloon Park is a public urban park in the Tsim Sha Tsui area of Kowloon, Hong Kong. It covers about 13.6 hectares and is one of the largest green spaces in this dense commercial district.
The park contains a large free-flight aviary, a Chinese garden with traditional pavilions, a sculpture and fountain plaza, and a municipal swimming complex. A network of paths, lawns and ponds makes it a popular place for short strolls, family outings and outdoor events in the city.
Many visitors also use the park as a quiet break from the surrounding shopping streets; the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre inside the park provides exhibits on local built heritage and is housed in a preserved colonial-era building.
The site was formerly occupied by colonial military facilities and was progressively redeveloped as public parkland in the mid to late 20th century. Several historic structures on the site were adapted for cultural and exhibition uses while the grounds were landscaped for public recreation.
Located in Tsim Sha Tsui between Salisbury Road and Nathan Road, the park sits within walking distance of Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station and the Victoria Harbour waterfront. It is embedded in one of Hong Kong’s busiest retail and tourist neighbourhoods.
