By Air

Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport (JIB): The primary international airport for Djibouti. From Djibouti city to Kouta Bouya (Dikhil Region) is a long road journey-expect several hours by road (typically 3-5+ hours) depending on route and conditions; travel is by private car, taxi or intercity bus. Arrange overland transport in advance for safety and timing.

(No nearer international airport): Ambouli/JIB is the main international gateway for the country; there are no large alternative international airports closer to Dikhil Region.

By Train & Bus

Train: Djibouti has no passenger rail services to Dikhil; the former metre‑gauge network is freight-only and not relevant for passenger travel to Kouta Bouya.
