A two-minute walk from Monastiraki Metro Station (Lines 1 and 3) or a short stroll east from Monastiraki Square along Ermou Street. Syntagma Square is about a 10-12 minute walk northeast.

- Approach Kotzia Square from Monastiraki metro (Lines 1 and 3) to arrive at the square's back alleys and avoid the tourist funnel from Ermou Street.
- Notice the pair of opposing city halls-one neoclassical, one modern-then look down: small archaeological remains were uncovered during the 2003 renovations and are visible near the surface.
- If a demonstration is happening, stay on the edges; Kotzia is a favored stage for civic events and sometimes loud political theatre.
