Klimahaus Bremerhaven

Klimahaus Bremerhaven 8° Ost is a science center and museum in Bremerhaven, Germany, focused on climate, weather and the human dimensions of climate change. The attraction presents its main route along the 8th degree east longitude.

The main exhibition guides visitors along a sequence of climate zones found on the 8° east meridian, presenting region-by-region displays about weather, ecosystems and how people live in different climates. Interactive exhibits, multimedia presentations and real-world case studies are used to illustrate climatic differences and environmental challenges.

Klimahaus Bremerhaven opened in the late 2000s as part of Bremerhaven’s Hafenwelten waterfront development and has since been a major local science and tourism attraction. It was conceived to provide public education on climate and global environmental connections.

The museum sits on the Bremerhaven waterfront at the mouth of the Weser estuary in the state of Bremen, northern Germany, within the Hafenwelten visitor district.
