Kissamos (Kastelli) on western Crete is served best from Chania - Chania Airport (CHQ) + KTEL bus is the usual route. There's no rail in Crete, so travel on the island is by bus, car or taxi.
Chania International Airport ‘Ioannis Daskalogiannis’ (CHQ): Chania (Souda) airport is the closest international airport for Kissamos (Kastelli). From CHQ you can take the bus to Chania city (about 20-30 min; ticket ~€2-€3) and then the KTEL regional bus from Chania to Kissamos (see below). A taxi direct from the airport to Kissamos takes ~50-70 minutes and costs roughly €55-75.
Heraklion International Airport (HER): Heraklion is farther (roughly 140-170 km / ~2.5-3 hours by road). If you arrive at HER you can take intercity buses or rent a car; expect a longer transfer time and higher cost than from Chania.
Train: Crete has no regular rail network; trains are not available.
Bus (KTEL Chania-Kissamos): KTEL Chania operates regular buses from Chania bus station to Kissamos (Kastelli). Typical one-way fares are about €6-€9 and journey time is around 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes depending on stops. Timetables are seasonal so check KTEL Chania for current schedules; buses are the most economical option from Chania/airport connections.
